Sarah Storms is a "remarkable" and "captivating" (Opera Canada) soprano who steals hearts on and off stage.

Sarah's recent accolades include Mabel in Gilbert & Sullivan's beloved operetta The Pirates of Penzance in concert with Grand River Chorus, Juliette in Leschetisky's  lesser known opera Die Erste Falte with the Ontario Leschetisky Association, and returning to the ColborneLIVE concert series as a soloist in Pergolesi's Stabat Mater.

A lover of new works, Sarah is constantly seeking opportunities to push the boundaries of her artistry through new and innovative projects.

She has worked with NUMUS Concerts, Open Ears Festival, and Arcady Ensemble to enliven new music by Canadian composers as well as co-creating  Entropy: A Devised and Improvised Space Opera with Wilfrid Laurier’s Improvisation Convergence Ensemble under the guidance of Amanda Smith and Kathryn Ladano.

In 2024, Sarah was part of the premiere cast and Original Cast Recording of Maia Coates's Why I Said Goodbye: A New Musical. Most recently, she premiered the role of Mary in Benjamin Gabbay’s The Scholars as a part of Arcady Ensemble’s New Opera Showcase.

This season Sarah joins Arcady Ensemble as a RBC Emerging Artist and Grand River Chorus as a Next Generation Emerging Artist.

She has graced the concert stage as a soloist in Charpentier's  Messe de minuit pour Noël with Grand River Chorus and Mozart's Vesperae solennes de confessore with the Grand Philharmonic Choir and Waterloo Chamber Players under the baton of Mark Vuorinen.

In 2025, Sarah ventured into the works of Richard Wagner for the first time joining Grand River Opera in a semi-staged performance of the third act of Die Walküre featuring the beloved "Ride of the Valkyries".

Other notable roles include La Haine (Armide), Hansel (Hansel and Gretel),  The Witch (Into the Woods), Mme. Armfeldt (A Little Night Music), and Alice Beane (Titanic: The Musical)

Sarah has had the privilege of participating in masterclasses with esteemed professional including Canadian soprano Jane Archibald and Drayton Entertainment Artistic Director David Connolly.

Sarah holds a Diploma in Opera from Wilfrid Laurier University and an Honours Bachelor of Music in Voice Performance with a minor in Theatre Studies from Western University.

She is currently living and working in Kitchener-Waterloo as a performer, teacher, choir director, and social media manager.
